Possibilities abound when the bottom car scrapes ground for the need for first aid.

The Need To Know First Aid

Everyone should know basic first aid. Accidents happen in unlikely places when you least expect them such as when a bottom car scrapes ground. The sparks from the bottom of the car could cause the car itself to ignite.

The sparks could also cause something else flammable to catch on fire or if someone was close enough cause them to get burned when the sparks hit their skin. The other possibility that could lead to the need to know first aid when the bottom car scrapes ground is the fact that it could come loose, roll off and hit another motorist or pedestrian.

While it is true that many of these types of injuries will require the assistance of a professional medical staff, first aid knowledge and a working first aid kit at the scene when these types of accidents occur can help the victim until an ambulance arrives.

Basic First Aid For Burns And Cuts

When a burn occurs the body can go into shock. If this happens try to get the victim to relax.

Never apply a cream or grease of any type on a burned area. If you have access to cold water you can apply that until medical help arrives. Do not pop any blisters. If it is a mild burn that slightly reddens the skin, it can be treated at home.

Any time a large amount of skin is burned or blistering occurs get professional medical treatment immediately.

Anytime a cut occurs you will need to determine the seriousness of the injury. If an artery or vein is severed, get professional medical help. While waiting for help or if the cut is a minor one you can try to stop the bleeding by applying a clean towel and an even, firm pressure to the wound.

For minor wounds, once the bleeding has stopped, wash the wound with soap and water, apply an antibiotic cream and dress the wound with a sterile gauze pad. The dressing should be changed daily unless it becomes wet or soiled.

Anytime a bottom car scrapes ground there could be the potential for a serious accident and the need for first aid.

Keep a first aid kit in your car and know what to do should the need to administer first aid arise.
